About US

Human Empowerment Charitable Trust and Educational Service (HECTES) is a non-profit organization was registered in 2021 under Government of Kerala with the registration number 43/IV/21. HECTES has been formed with the noble vision of serving the mentally retarded children and the impoverished families who are indeed in need of mental, educational and financial supports.

Children with mental illness are to be treated like all other children in their need to be valued and appreciated for their talents. Such students may require special attention and support in order to come up well in the school/college environment.

Apart from catering to the financial and special educational needs of the mentally retarded children, HECTES serves the impoverished families irrespective of their cast, religion or any other identity providing them financial aids especially for their daughters wedding/marriage.

HECTES envisions and works for a situation where mentally challenged children shall receive special inclusive education, emotional support and consideration on their way to recognize themselves as other children.

Human Empowerment Charitable Trust and Educational Service (HECTES) undertakes to achieve the following missions: Advocating for the rights of mentally challenged children. Promoting awareness and providing education on the rights of mentally challenged children. Addressing issues that have a particular impact on low-income mentally challenged children. Addressing the discrimination faced by the mentally challenged children. Providing financial aid for the marriage of daughters from low-income families.

HECTES is guided by the following set of core values: The dignity and worth of all mentally challenged children must be respected. Children with mental illness have the right to equality, self-determination, disability-related supports and full participation in an inclusive society. Any kind of discrimination against the mentally challenged are to be discouraged
